The ICEDIF offering is now officially closed. Our intention is to reopen in the fall of 2008 during the RRSP season to enable shareholders to invest via the Community Economic Development Investment Fund program of the Nova Scotia Government.

Westport, Nova Scotia-January 30th, 2008 - A new community economic development investment fund (CEDIF) has launched to make sustainable, environmentally friendly investments in the Long and Brier Islands area of Digby County. The Sustainable Islands Community Economic Development Investment Fund Inc. (Islands CEDIF) has received a letter of non-objection from the Nova Scotia Securities Commission to offer shares which are eligible as a RRSP contribution and for 30% non-refundable Nova Scotia Equity Tax Credit against Nova Scotia taxes payable if held for 5 years.
January 18. 2008- The Ecology Action Centre in collaboration with the Sustainable Islands CEDIF will be hosting a public consultation session at the Islands Consolidated School in Freeport on January 21st, 2008. The input from this session will inform the development of a Green Mobility Strategy for Nova Scotia. The strategy will offer recommendations for improving the environmental, social and economic sustainability of transportation options in Nova Scotia. These transportation options include transit, carpooling, walking and cycling.

The province is inviting municipalities to develop proposals to fight greenhouse gas and air pollution in their communities, and the best proposals will earn a share of a $7.5-million fund to make them happen.
"By 2020, Nova Scotia will cut greenhouse gas emissions to 10 per cent below 1990 levels," said the premier at the Union of Nova Scotia Municipalities conference today, Nov. 7. "To get there, we need creative ideas from across the province, ideas that make us a cleaner province and also make good economic sense."

Nova Scotian innovations that reduce greenhouse gases and other air pollutants will be eligible for funding from a $9.5-million program.
Businesses, institutions, and organizations that can demonstrate commercially viable environmental proposals will benefit from the Ecotrust Environmental Technology Program for Clean Air and Climate Change.

The province is asking Nova Scotians for input into energy and greenhouse-gas reduction policies.
Energy Minister Bill Dooks announced today, Oct. 22, that his department is updating its 2001 Energy Strategy and also creating a new Climate Change Action Plan.

Nova Scotia's world-class wind resource now comes with its own map.
"By 2013, nearly 20 per cent of all Nova Scotia's electricity will come from green sources like wind," said Energy Minister Bill Dooks to government, business and environmental representatives at the Power of Green conference in Halifax, today, Sept. 18. "Our wind resource is a tremendous opportunity for clean power, and now we have a map to show us that opportunity in detail."

The Offshore Energy Environmental Research Association (OEER) is pleased to announce that the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) of ocean renewable energy in the Bay of Fundy is underway and a Technical Advisory Group has been established to carry out the Assessment process. Lesley Griffiths has been chosen to be the SEA process lead and OEER has
issued a Request for Proposals for an Environmental and Socio-Economic Impact Assessment Report of the Bay of Fundy.
"The Strategic Environmental Assessment is a tool to help us identify the most sustainable way to develop tidal energy in Nova Scotia, before decisions have to be made about specific projects", said Dr. Meinhard Doelle, Chair of the Tidal Energy Technical Advisory Group for OEER.
